20th March is counted as ‘International Day of Happiness’. So, are you happy today? Happiness is an emotion. It has different meaning to different people. But the core characteristic of happiness is to feel good. This ‘good’ felling comes when life seems peaceful, surrounded by loved one, no pressure and no failure at all. But is this really possible? Sleep is also important for happiness. The more you sleep, the less you’ll be sensitive to negative emotions. Sleep recover our body and keep us relaxed. Quality time with friends and family. Even to introverts, social time is highly valuable to improve overall happiness. The strength of social relationships increases positivity. Sharing our grief, we feel lighter emotionally.

Smiling is also helpful to gain happiness. Smiling make us feel better. It helps to reduce pain, improve mood and think better. Thus, ‘Practicing smile’ is an effective way to boost up happiness. Instead of faking it, try to find real reason to smile. You can start helping others, note down your achievements, be part of social gatherings and more. You will release positive hormones each time you smile.

Lastly I would say, happiness is your choice. There is good and bad in everything. Practice to see the goods only. But don’t over push yourself to find happiness. Instead, be the one who spreads happiness. Then see the love that people will shower on you and make you feel worthy.
