The 19-year old music sensation just became Grammys best new artist for her album “sour.” She also bagged two other awards with this one: best pop vocal album and best pop solo performance.
Since her album’s release last year her songs were everywhere, from shopping malls to the radio to TV. The teenage pop sensation made her mark by giving her Gen-Z audience what they craved for. The themes in her songs mostly centered around love, relationships, heartbreak, and the realities of teenage romance.
She came in front of the public eye at a young age. Olivia’s debut was through a commercial for Old Navy which led her to star in a Disney show where she played the role of a guitar-playing character.
The 19-year-old pop star also played was in Disney’s “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.” Her role in this series was a game-changer for her. She signed her record label deal soon after she was the female lead of “High School Musical’s” series.
Her songs in her album “Sour” really highlight this generation’s lives, their relationships, and their fashion sense. The album featured songs like “Drivers License” and “Good 4 U” songs about the heartache of teenage love. “Drivers License was also one of the viral songs on TikTok last year. The music in her album does range from pop to fuck perfectly aligning with the taste of this generation.
