According to international media reports, the latest pair of shoes from France’s Queen Marie-Antoinette was put up for auction. Officials at Onsent Auction House had the idea that the price could go up to 10-12 thousand dollars. But after the auction, calls started coming from all over the world. In the end, it was sold for 51 thousand dollars, or 43 lakh takas. The shoes are white, eight inches long, and made of goatskin. The upper part of this shoe is decorated with ribbon.
Marie-Antoine, the wife of King Louis XVI, was the queen of France during the French Revolution of 1789. The ornaments used by the queen a couple of years ago have also been put up for auction. A few of them sold for millions of dollars.
