The national cricketer is no longer on life support and remains under close medical observation in the CCU of KPJ Specialised Hospital in Gazipur.

Former Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal has been hospitalized after suffering two heart attacks during a match at the BKSP grounds in Savar, near Dhaka.

After arriving at KPJ Specialised Hospital in Gazipur’s Kashimpur, doctors performed a series of tests, including an angiogram, which revealed a blockage in Tamim’s heart. This blockage led to two heart attacks earlier in the morning, Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Debashish Chowdhury, informed reporters this afternoon (March 24).

“As an emergency procedure, a stent was placed to restore blood flow. Tamim is now in stable condition but will remain under medical supervision in the coming days as he recovers,” said Dr. Debashish.
