Last weekend, Sydney’s Whitlam Leisure Centre in Liverpool came alive with Bangladeshi music. Two legendary bands, Miles and Artcell, performed together for the first time. Fans from across the city packed the venue. Greenfield Entertainment organized the event, which excited the local Bangladeshi community.
For Miles, Sydney has always been special. “We were probably the first Bangladeshi band to perform here in 1996,” said Hamin Ahmed. “This is our fifth visit, and the audience energy is always amazing.” Guitarist Turjo said, “We are touring five cities in Australia, but Sydney felt different. The crowd made the night unforgettable.”
Miles played classics like “Chand Tara Surjo,” “Neela,” “Dhiki Dhiki,” and “Firiye Dao.” Fans sang along to every song. The hall buzzed with energy and nostalgia.
Artcell opened the show and thrilled the younger audience. Their songs “Dhushor Shomoy,” “Dukkho Bilash,” and “Poth Chola” showcased their complex rock sound. Local fan Mohammad Irfan Khan said, “Miles defined our youth, but seeing Artcell on the same stage was incredible. I will never forget this night.”
The concert marked a milestone for the Bangladeshi community in Sydney. Faisal Azad of Greenfield Entertainment said, “We wanted to bring two generations of bands together. The community has waited for this for a long time.” The MusicFest ran late into the night. Beyond the songs, it celebrated Bangladeshi music across generations. Miles also honored their late band member Shafin Ahmed, leaving fans touched and inspired
