Due to the coronavirus pandemic, many countries closed their borders one by one from the beginning of the year, then many countries stopped flying.

In March, all international flights from Bangladesh were declared closed. But recently aviation has resumed with different countries. But the question now in many minds is what kind of safety measures need to be taken to survive the coronavirus.

Again, the issue of the personal safety of passengers has come under discussion after a significant number of COVID-19 infected patients were found among passengers traveling from Bangladesh to various destinations abroad.

Meanwhile, a panel of aviation health experts says thermal-image cameras and swab tests are no longer a reliable test to determine whether a passenger at the airport is infected with the coronavirus. Rather, it is not possible to identify one in three infected people through this method.

However, due to the air-conditioning system of the aircraft and low humidity, the rate of spread of the virus during air travel is somewhat reduced.

But the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has already issued some instructions to the authorities concerned to ensure the safety of the passengers. Health experts have also given some advice for the personal safety of passengers.

What should the passenger do?

Aviation health analysts say there are a few things a passenger needs to keep in mind before traveling.

A team of experts from British Aviation and the Department for Transport has warned passengers on some things to prevent infection:

* Keep hands clean, because the virus spreads more from the hands. For this, you have to use an alcohol hand sanitizer.

* Tissues should be used during sneezing or coughing, then hands should be cleaned with hand sanitizer.

* Passengers must wear masks all the time, sitting at least six feet away from other passengers if possible.

* Stay two meters away from the other person and their baggage means six feet.

* Since coronavirus is spread through droplets, it is necessary to calculate how far a passenger can reach if he sneezes or coughs in the cabin of the aircraft. Seat handles, tray-tables placed in front of passengers, seat-bags will usually fall within a distance of six feet. So be careful in using these places.

* Those whose seats are at the back of the cabin, will sit first and get off at the end.

* Use as few toilets as possible.
