Coke Studio Bangla officially kicks off with the song “Nasek Nasek” leaving the entire country mesmerized. Bangla music enthusiasts across the globe all tuned into Coke Studio Bangla‘s youtube channel to watch the season premiere this Wednesday night.
The first episode featured a ‘Hajong’ song written by the talented Animes Roy in his mother tongue. Midway, the song was fused with Pantho Kanai’s rendition of the legendary folk ballad “Dol Dol Doloni” originally written by the great Abdul Latif.
Animes’ electrifying performance made a mark in the country’s music scene. Later Pantho Kanai’s version of the timeless classic took us all on a nostalgic journey to our childhoods. Animes’ fiery energy with Pantho Kanai’s cool and calm vibe fitted perfectly with each other. Hats off to singer-music Director Shayan Chowdhury Arnob for curating and producing the song and Adit Rahman for composing and arranging this harmonious fusion.
In light of the language movement, the episode opened with a native tribal song to pay a tribute to the linguistic diversity of the country. That too brushed off all the backlash the show was facing regarding the proper representation of the musical diversity of the country.
This episode also showcased a wide range of musicians. Well-known faces like guitarist Imran Ahmed among many others made their appearance. The visuals starting from the set design to the costumes, all complemented the celebratory tone of the music. It definitely did not disappoint in keeping up with the original franchise.
The first episode of Coke Studio Bangla did start with a bang. And it has set the tone for what to hope for in the future. So, stay tuned to their Youtube, Facebook, and Spotify to get the latest updates.
