Jaya Ahsan wins the ‘Tumi Ananya’ award of Kolkata yesterday. Jaya Ahsan, the Prominent Bangladeshi actress, already won the hearts of West Bengal audiences by her mesmerizing performances on several films, telefilms, etc. So, now, it is time to have such recognition.
Artists, social activists and delegates from different sectors arrived at the Gayen Mancho in Kolkata on the eve of this Award ceremony. Jaya also appeared there with her mother Rehana Masud. Besides her, Kolkata movie star Abir Chatterjee, Nusrat Jahan and many other renowned artists present on the occasion.
Receiving the award, organized by Beyond Dreams, Jaya told that ‘It is an acclaimed event and getting such recognition is inspiring.’
It is the 15th edition of this award ceremony. Earlier, the famous singer Runa Laila received this award from Bangladesh. In addition, Indian star Shabana Azmi, Bidusi Girija Devi won this award too. Aparna Sen, Usha Utthup, Mamata Shankar, Sabitri Chattopadhyay, Rachna Banerjee, Koel Mallick, and Donna Ganguly were the other winners.
Meanwhile, Jaya is now working in several films in Kolkata. Recently movies like ‘Bini Sutoy’, ‘Robibar’ came to the theatre. Such other films like ‘Vhoot Pari’ and ‘Ardhangini’ is ready to release. And the audience of Bangladesh waits for films like ‘Beauty Circus’, ‘Payarar Subash’ and ‘Olatchakra’.
