Raba Khan and Ishrat Karim of Bangladesh named and honored as the young entrepreneur and change-maker list of Forbes’ 30 under 30 Asia Class of 2020. Raba Khan is well known for publishing satirical videos about various aspects of society. And through Amal Foundation Ishrat Karim works for the help of poor people.
Forbes Magazine released the list last Thursday. In this list, Raba Khan addressed as an ‘Entertainer’ and her initiative named ‘The Jhakanaka Project’. The list mentions that Raba Khan is now 20 years old.
On the other hand, Ishrat Karim named as a social worker. After completing her studies abroad, she set up the Amal Foundation in a joint venture back home. And, the Foundation works for the development of backward classes including child marriage, women oppression, widow women.
Forbes lists 300 people in 10 categories. So, on the Forbes website, each category is referred to as a ‘Featured Honor’. Forbes said that from the nearly 3,500 nominations online, their researchers identify the names of 300 Asians for the list.
The 10 categories that Forbes honored include the arts, entertainment, financial sector, marketing and advertising, retailing and e-commerce, technology, manufacturing, health, and so on. Raba Khan nominated by the media, marketing and advertising category. In this category she refers to ‘Featured Honor’.
On the other hand, Ishrat Karim won the Social Enterprise category. According to the Forbes website, the Amal Foundation is now working with 52,000 people.
Meanwhile, Forbes regularly publishes a list of wealthy, influential, inspirational personalities and entrepreneurs from different regions of the world. This is the fifth time they publish the ’30 under 30 Asia ‘ list. The list includes 69 from India, 5 from Pakistan, 3 from Nepal and 12 from Malaysia.
