The wait for the new ventures into the world of “The Caped Crusader” still feels like a long way to go. At least we get to see small clips and tidbits of the story through its regular scheduled teasers and trailers. And yesterday, Warner Bros released another trailer for the new Batman movie titled THE BATMAN -The Bat and The Cat.
The movie is all set to be screened in theatres all over the USA and overseas on March 4th, 2022. And will be made available in the OTT platform HBO MAX from April 19, just 45 days after. Initially planned to be released in October of 2021, the film got delayed due to Covid and other unforeseeable situations. Even the shooting was paused when the lead actor Robert Pattinson tested positive for Covid.
Now let’s talk about the trailer, shall we? From the title The Bat and The Cat, we can deduce that this trailer will heavily concentrate on the characters of the dark vigilante and his not so always predictable associate The Cat Woman (Skillfully played by Zoe Kravitz).
The clips here show the tumultuous relationship the two share with one another, never fully trusting the other. However, with the line “If we don’t stand up, no one will… The Bat and the Cat, it’s got a nice ring,” a form of mutual understanding leading to partnership can be anticipated.
It also shows the havoc created in Gotham city thanks to the Penguin and the Riddler, brought to life by Collin Farrel and Paul Dano respectively. This Batman trailer also gives us glimpses of other star casts including Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon as the Chief of Gotham Police, Andy Serkis as Batman’s most trusted ally Alfred Pennyworth, Jayme Lawson as the mayoral candidate for Gotham City, and many more.
On one hand, where Collin Farrel appeared unrecognizable as the Penguin in a car chase scene. On another, only the Riddlers voice was heard teasing and luring Batman in with his clever and witty riddles.
“It can be Cruel, Poetic, or Blind…
But when denied,
It’s your violence you may find.”
To which the knight of the night replies “Justice, the answer is JUSTICE.“
In less than 24 hours the trailer got over 10 million views. so it’s safe to say that this movie will be on the top of the must-watch list in 2022.
