Marvel Cinematic Universe has done it again, and that too in the midst of a global pandemic. Yes, That’s right we are talking about raking in another Billion dollars at the box office. This time it’s with their latest comic-book-inspired movie Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Spider-Man: No Way Home marks the British actor Tom Holland‘s Third solo venture into the world of spider verse. The movie was opened in theatres all over the world except China on 17th December 2021. It made a remarkable debut with a whopping $260 million. This made the movie the third-biggest domestic opening of all time Exceeded only by Avengers: Endgame (2019) and Avengers: Infinity War (2018) taking 1st and 2nd spot respectively.

Though it was well predicted that this film will possibly cross the 1 billion mark, however, the fact that it did so without even making a debut in China was very surprising to many. As China is the largest market for movies and all other Marvel movies were released there simultaneously, this news did come as a pleasant shock.

The third installment of Tom Holand’s version of Spider-man saw a surge in sales during the Christmas weekend, domestically making $81.5 million and $121.4 million overseas. This helped the film hold its top position in the theatres and also added up to bagging $467.3 million in North America and $587 million internationally, making a total of $1.05 billion in just 12 days. Kudos to them for topping charts in the midst of Omicron’s widespread scare.

The star cast of this movie includes the usual group of Zandaya, Marisa Tomei (Aunt May), and Jacob Batalon with some exciting additions. Benedict Cumberbatch lent a helping hand as Dr. Stange. However, the thing that excited the fans, even more, is the list of antagonists. Alfred Molina, Willem Dafoe, and Jamie Fox, and many reprised their roles from Tobey Maguire‘s Spider-Man film series and Andrew Garfield‘s Amazing Spider-Man, who themselves also made a cameo in this film.

No way home has received rave reviews unanimously. Many fans of Marvel comics have called it the best MCU movie of all time. And like every other MCU film, the end credits tease what the future of this entire universe hold, Specifically for Dr. Strange. So, If you still haven’t watched this movie in theatres, then what are you doing?
