Tokyo Olympics will delay after the collaborative decision taken by Japan and IOC. Coronavirus issues emphases Japan and IOC authority to make the decision. Japan’s PM, Shinzo Abe, and the IOC president, Thomas Bach, prompted affirmation of a choice made inescapable by the coronavirus pandemic.

 

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said, “I proposed to postpone the Tokyo Olympics for one year. So, the Olympics will take place in 2021. IOC President Thomas Bach has agreed with it. He also added that in spite of one year delay the event will still name as Tokyo Olympic 2020.

 

The Olympic Organizing Committee and the IOC said in a joint statement that the situation of coronavirus is not getting under control. So, uncertainty is increasing day by day. World conditions are getting worse every day. Earlier on Monday, the World Health Organization’s director said the virus was spreading rapidly. So far 3 million and more people infected with this virus in the world. About sixteen thousand five hundred died. Again, coronavirus has been found in almost every country in the world and it is increasing every minute. Considering all these serious points we are coming to such a decision.

 

Meanwhile, according to BBC News, the IOC president, and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe decided to set a new date for the Tokyo Olympics. The current situation and the World Health Organization’s statement are taking into account seriously.
