He was the initiator of this free online education platform featuring hundreds of live classes and smartbooks, thousands of video tutorials, and tens of thousands of quizzes and other educational tools designed to reach anyone looking to improve their skills. Yes, we are talking about a passionate educator and founder of the 10 Minute School Mr. Ayman Sadiq. Let’s know the Ayman story from the reader to become a writer!
Reading habits have been developed from school life. Dad used to bring magazines from the office at noon. And soon the magazine would be shared between me and my mother. Sports pages, study pages, fun magazines, dreams — these would have been in my possession. And Ammu read Entertainment, Design — these pages. So I was a reader from the beginning of my childhood.
My grandfather used to do another job. He used to cut and send me various study tips printed on study pages and dreams. Once every 5-6 months, newspaper cuttings used to come to our house. These paper cuttings can be found by searching now. The kids at the time probably wouldn’t be able to match themselves with this story. But I think many of my peers would do it.
When I was studying at the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) at Dhaka University, my team was once the champion in a business case competition. The trophy was handed over to the champion team in the ballroom of Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden.
But a week later, when the feature was published in a newspaper, our picture was published, it seems that I have become a ‘superstar’. Grandpa, Mama, Uncle, everyone started calling. Then I realized the power of printed materials.
Then whenever I won an award, I tried to let it be known in the newspapers. If the feature is printed again, in the hope! In the meanwhile, the journey of Ten Minutes School started. At first, a small server we bought with the money that was earned by tuition. I didn’t know that our small server would survive under the pressure of so many people. So after waiting for almost a year, I came up with my work to publish.
The cruel irony of fate! When I went to show my website for the feature, the website was not loading. What an embarrassing situation! However, I was finally able to show the website.
When Ten Minute School was published, it seemed like people took our little school as a school. Then time by time our Ten Minute school grew. One day I was asked to write. Writing is not new to me then. I go to various events, give advice on reading and presentation, and write in different places. But when I heard that I have to write about my dreams, I was quite scared for the first time. Honestly, the first article was not very good in my eyes. But when the article was published after editing, I realized that writing is a very difficult task.
And that’s how I became a writer!
