The administration has decided to open the tourist centers at Cox’s Bazar, including beaches and hotels, from August 17.
Cox’s Bazar District Administrator Kamal Hossain told that the decision was taken at a meeting of the district administration’s tourism cell held on The Virtual Platform on Wednesday night.
Earlier, the district administration said that a committee was set up in coordination with the hotel-motel and tourism sector-related traders. And it was led by The District Administration’s Tourism Cell to open the entertainment centers on August 1.
The administration ordered the closure of tourist centers in the district, including Cox’s Bazar beach and hotel-motels, from March 18 to the coronavirus epidemic. After that, the deadline for lockdown and a general holiday was over but the tourist centers were closed. These tourists spots were closed for more than four and a half months.
Kamal Hossain said that the administration has decided to open the tourist centers in the city of Cox’s Bazar. But it will open in limited quantities including beaches and hotels and motels. And obviously according to certain conditions. However, other entertainment centers in the district will remain closed until further notice.
