This legendary actor is from the famous Kapoor family of Bollywood. Mr. Kapoor has been suffering from various complex diseases due to old age including cancer since 2018. His brother Randhir Kapoor told media that Rishi was admitted to HN Reliance Hospital in Mumbai after he started having difficulty breathing. Indian media outlet NDTV confirmed that he died there on Thursday morning.
Meanwhile, Rishi Kapoor returned to Mumbai last year after cancer treatment from New York, USA. Returning home, he tweeted, ‘Back home! After 11 months and 11 days! Thank you all. ‘
Rishi Kapoor is not only an actor, but also a producer-director. He made his acting debut in 1970 with father Raj Kapoor’s film ‘Mera Naam Joker’. He was then played the role of a child artist. Then in 1983, young Rishi Kapoor made his debut as the main character or hero in another film of Raj Kapoor named ‘Bobby’. For this film he won the Filmfare Best Actor Award in 1984.
He has acted in over a hundred films since 1970. Rishi Kapoor was born on September 4, 1952, in Chembur, Mumbai to a Punjabi Hindu family.
