Every year there are traditions of showcasing clothes in international fashion shows. Many Bangladeshi entrepreneurs took part in international fashion shows with their cloth. But, this year, because of coronavirus outbreaks, all plans are scattered.
The Asia Apparel Expo in Berlin, Germany, is scheduled to be February 18-20. Then it was changed to 23-25 June. That too has been suspended. Now it’s time for September 22-24.
At the same time, Bangladesh Denim Expo has set a new date from April to November 2 and 3. The Copenhagen Fashion Summit is scheduled for October 12-13. Copenhagen Fashion Week was supposed to be at the same place. Now, it will happen on 9-12 August.
London Fashion Week Men’s is also postponed and taken from June to 18-22 September. The Council of Fashion Designers of America announced March 27 that the New York Fashion Week resort will not be in place until 2021. Like these, there are many examples.
Many leading experts and consultants in fashion technology fear that, like International events, in Bangladesh, we may not get able to organize any fashion shows until 2021.
Again, many people have talked about digital fashion shows. Many have also tried it out. And the result was not that bad. The first virtual fashion show after the coronavirus infection took place in Shanghai, China, from March 24-30. Mercedes Benz Russia Fashion Week is placed April 4-5. And the responses are good. Over 830,000 people watch it on the Internet. There was also London’s first digital fashion week held from June 12-14.
