The sixth edition of the Dhaka International Mobile Film Festival ends yesterday. It was a successful event for the organizers and also for movie lovers. This year, the organizers able to show 202 films from 41 countries around the world.

In the ‘Competition’ category, ‘CinemaScope Best Film’ award won by the movie named ‘The Conundrum’. This film directed by Bangladeshi directors Anupam Hore and Tahsin Ahmed. Another prestigious award of  ‘ULAB Young Filmmaker’ won by another Bangladeshi director Mehrun Nessa’s venture ‘All Winners’. So, it was eventually a positive sign for young, energetic and promising Bangladeshi filmmakers.

 

The award announced on the last day of the Dhaka International Mobile Film Festival at Star Cineplex. On the closing day of the festival, the chief guest was Dr. Giti Ara Nasrin, Professor of Mass Communication and Journalism at Dhaka University. She says that all the participating directors at the Dhaka International Mobile Film Festival are extraordinary. Their works are speaking through the creative imagination of the film.

Filmmaker Kamar Ahmad Simon was the special guest on the occasion. Simon says that we need to utilize the potentiality and creativity of the new directors and filmmakers so that we can change the annoying culture of filmmaking in our country.

 

‘CinemaScope Best Film’ award winner filmmakers Anupam Hore and Tahsin Ahmed are both studying architecture in Chittagong University of Science and Technology. Mehrun Nessa, who won the ‘ULAB Young Filmmaker’ award, is studying at the Dhaka Udyan Government College.

The festival started with the slogan of the new generation, new technology, and new communication. Every year this initiative promotes filmmaking through mobile.
