Maldives is known for its luxurious resorts. However, Soneva Fushi of Maldives broke the previous record! It is claimed that this is the largest villa in the world built on water. It has a huge one-bedroom villa and a few two-bedroom villas.
Soneva Fushi was inaugurated on September 25. How big is it? Sources said that the one-bedroom villa has an area of 6,275 square feet. The length of the two-bedroom villa is 9,224 square feet. Soneva Fushi is eight times larger than the average apartment in Brooklyn, USA, and 12 times larger than the average flat in London. So what could be better than traveling while maintaining social distance!
However, there are villas larger than Soneva Fushi in the Maldives. But it is the biggest one-bedroom and two-bedroom villa.
Eight suites are being booked at the new resort. These are called ‘water rooms’. All have glass floors. As a result, the corals and fish of the sea can be seen from very close without boarding the boat.
Each suite features a separate outdoor bathtub, wooden veranda, sunbathing seat, and a 19-meter water slide. It can be rolled into the seawater with a slide from above. Although the seawater does not seem to be enough, there is no problem, there are pool facilities.
The resort has several restaurants (including chocolate rooms), a kids club, tennis courts, a space telescope, a coral reef, and a glass-blowing center for scuba diving. Also, room service will be available all the time.
Soneva Fushi has also the largest outdoor theater in the Indian Ocean. The rent for one-bedroom is 2 thousand 626 US dollars per night (2 lakh 23 thousand takas). The two-bedroom villa costs 5,232 USD per night (4.5 lakh taka).
Like other travel destinations in the Maldives, Soneva Fushi is located on a separate island. Its name is Kunfunadhoo Island. And all resorts in the country have to be booked in advance.
The good news for those eager to travel is that tourists from any country can now visit the Maldives to alleviate the frustration of the coronavirus pandemic. The country has lifted travel restrictions since mid-July. It doesn’t even take a corona negative certificate. There is only one rule – everyone has to go to the island.
