The popular reality folk music competition “Utshob Group presents Banglar Gayen-USA” is premiering in RTV very soon. This year the show will be taking place in the USA for first time in its history. It will showcase the musical talents of Bangladeshis living in the USA.
Folk music is an integral part of our Bengali identity. If anyone goes to the rural parts of the country they will be able to see how it is deeply inclined into our cultural heritage. And to keep its connection with folk music alive RTV created its folk music competition “Utshob Group Presents Banglar Gayen.” This is a way to involve the new generation in this world of folk music. A way of keeping the rich culture of folk stay forever in people’s hearts.
Over the years, the show has gained popularity among both national and international audience. It was successful in finding talented musicians who just needed a platform to showcase their talent. Therefore, this year they are back again by popular demand.
Banglar Gayen is going the extra mile this year because they are premiering in USA. This will give the talented music loving Bangladeshi emigrants in the USA an opportunity to perform in front of their own crowd.
Who can apply-
- Both males and females above the age of 16 years
- Must be Bengali speaking
- Accepts both national and international participants
Procedure-
- Applicants will record themselves at home singing a folk song of their choice
- The audio and video must be clear
- No video editing is allowed
