Women entrepreneurs who have fight corona pandemic with courage, have been awarded by UjjwalaBD. As we all know, during pandemic world economy has collapsed. Many had to shut down their business. Even in such critical situation, some women continued their  journey towards their dream. They fight all the odds and show the passion to be ‘The One’. On the month of Woman’s Day, the institute wanted to show their gratitude towards such 9 inspirational entrepreneurs. UjjwalaBD, the learning center working for women development, took the initiate with BRAC to encourage their students.

Renowned personality like journalist and musician Navneeta Chowdhury, who is also a director for BRAC’s ‘Gender, Justice and Diversity and Preventing Violence Against Women Initiative’ program was the chef guest of the program. She talked about how women are passionate and determined to become self-dependent. For her appreciation speed Chief Guest Navneeta Chowdhury said “I see many women role models, which we couldn’t  even imagine 10 years ago. I hope women will move forward in this way.” The platform was also shared by two successful women entrepreneurs Asma Rahman and Samira Tunaj. They are among the bright former students of UjjwalaBD.

Ujjwala has been working alongside women in the beauty and grooming industry for the last four years to achieve professionalism. They have several training programs for women. Ujjwala also works for skills and economic development of the deprived population and making them self-reliant as their non-profit program.
