Monsoon can be a very unpredictable season. Especially in the midst of the current situation. But one thing that stays the same, is the foods craving we experience. So, here are some of the common foods that are craved most during the monsoon season.

Monsoon food pakora

  1. Pakoras: When it rains outside, a plate of pakoras served with the side of a sweet and sour chutney or Yogurt chutney or simply ketchup with a cup of hot tea in your hands really sets the mood, doesn’t it? And best thing about this is that you have pakoras in as many different verities as you want. Aloo pakora, mixed veggie pakora, spinach pakora, the list goes on.

2. Samosa: Deep fried finger foods are really what we need in this season to set an atmosphere perfect for chilling with others. And when the weather become cold and gloomy, these can lift things up. They, like Pakoras, are endless when it comes to verities.

Monsoon food corn

3. Bhutta(Roasted Corn): A stick of corn marinated with mustard oil or lemon and topped up with different spices will never disappoint. It is a classic and lifts up your mood and the environment.

Monsoon food momo

4. Momos(Dumplings)/Gyoza: If you don’t want to try something that has oil in it, then a steamed plate of momos or dumpligs are the way to go. With a spiced up delicious filling with soy sauce or mint chutney, you can’t go wrong. Or you can have the side to side pan fried version of it which is also not too oily, called gyoza.

Monsoon food soup

5. Hot Soup: Do we even need to have this conversation? On a gloomy rainy day this works as a mood lifter with so many health benefits. They can tickle you taste buds, fill your stomach and at the same time can help you fight the cold weather.

6. Khichuri: Although not a finger food in any way, but no one can deny their craving for a delicious plate of vegetable khichuri or plain dry or wet khichuri with eggs or egg curry or any spicy curry. Soul filling, mouth filling, and tummy filling.

Monsoon food tea

7. And That’s The Tea: With all the finger foods mentioned above, what other than adding a masala tea can make things any better? That’s a trick question because there is nothing else. Sipping on your tea while looking out through the window when it rains, one of the best feelings in life.

Now that Monsoon is here, we are sure you have indulged in at least one or two item in this list of foods you can enjoy most during monsoon season. And there is still time to try the rest.
