There are no doors or windows. There is no roof over the head. There aren’t even walls around. However, there are all the facilities to stay with the bed and lights! And also a mesmerizing natural beauty around them. At night you can even enjoy the magnificent view of the Alps and the twinkling stars. Just like the feeling of being in a tent matches here. Seven such fancy open hotels are available in Switzerland. However, there is only one bed in each.

Frank and Patrick Ricklin, two inventive brothers from Switzerland, and Daniel Sharboni, an entrepreneur, have jointly implemented the idea of a hotel under an open sky without roofs and walls.

Entrepreneurs call this project Zero Real Estate. That is housing in unused vacant space. They want to offer a completely different kind of hospitality in the light of local traditions. In the words of Frank Ricklin, “Zero real estate without a hotel room is like serving something without an audience.”

We come to know that the name of the hotel is ‘Null Stern’. In English it is named ‘Zero Stars’. In the words of co-founder Daniel Sharboni, ‘It’s not a star hotel, but the guests are all stars! There are no walls, only the guests and their experience. ‘

Null Stern’s journey began in 2016 with a bed in the eastern Switzerland of Graubunden. It has an elevation of 6,463 feet above sea level. The following year a second branch opens in the mountainous environment of the village of Apenzel in the country. It is 4,000 feet above sea level. Construction workers level the ground to make beds in the mountains.

Extraordinary open hotel has various facilities. One of them is there in serving the guests here. Which is commonly called room service. And he lives in a cabin near the hotel and makes breakfast and dinner for the guests.

But what would happen if it rained in such an open hotel could be a cause for concern. So, entrepreneurs are thinking of a solution. During the rainy season, guests will take to local farms or huts. However, guests can cancel last minute bookings if the weather is unfavorable.

The hotel does not normally have a bathroom. So, the guests have to go to the public toilet within a walking distance of five minutes. The rent for a hotel is 300 dollar per night.
