What was supposed to be Mbappe’s show ended up being Benzema’s blockbuster movie. All eyes were on Mbappe from the very start of the match. He was able to have a 1-0 lead against Madrid in the first half. Mbappe’s second happened in a blink of an eye that was later considered off-side. PSG also missed out on many opportunities from the start.
Even with that lead, they couldn’t do anything against Madrid in the second half. Madrid showed their dominance over this season’s favorites. Benzema scored three amazing goals and proved to everyone that Madrid is still an important competitor in the Champions League.
After Madrid’s 3-2 aggregate, there was little hope from this match. However, they performed one of their most memorable matches last night. After, the win the players seemed to look up into the sky in joy and sheer disbelief. On the other hand, the all-stars of PSG like Mbappe, Messi, Neymar had nothing but despair and disappointment on their faces.
