Saudi royal family seeks to reduce economic dependence on oil in Saudi Arabia. Therefore, they are trying different things. The country is focusing on the tourism industry to keep the economic wheel for the future.

Now, news comes that Model photoshoots are being organized in Al-Ula, in The Province of Medina, Saudi Arabia. Report shows that internationally renowned supermodels were present there in the photoshoots. 

The Media Middle East Monitor reported that the Saudi Arabian edition of the popular US magazine “Vogue” hosted this photoshoot. The featured models are Kate Moss, Mariacarla Boscono, Candice Swanepoel, Jourdan Dunn, Amber Valletta, Xiao Wen and Alek Wek.

The Lebanese designer Eli Mizrahi is the thoughts behind these initiatives.  On July 8, Vogue Arabia published some photos of the photoshoot.

The photo shoot, “24 Hours in Al-Ula,”, shows the models in tight clothes. The Middle East Monitor reports that such clothing could cause objection among Saudi residents. The area of the photoshoot is also known to be within 300 km from the city of Medina, the holy place of Muslims.
