The highly anticipated Warner Bros movie “The Batman: The Bat and the Cat” finally premiered in theatres across the globe on 4th March. It is considered one of the biggest releases of this year.
The new Batman movie starred the “Twilight” superstar Robert Pattinson as “Batman” and Joe Kravitz as “Catwoman“. After the release of the trailer last year, it was evident that new the new Batman will take a different narrative. Fans are expecting to see a deeper dive into Batman’s alter ego as “the world’s greatest detective.”
In its first week, it bagged an astonishing $134 million. The ticket sales for The Batman was the highest this year. Before that, the only movie that came close to it was “Spider-Man: No Way Home” that made $100 million. Prior to this week, Tom Holland’s “Uncharted” had the highest box office sales.
It’s already the second week since the movie was released and it’s still on top of the charts. And it is believed to stay like that until another superhero movie gets released. “The Batman” cost an estimated $200 million to produce. And it was estimated to make $128 million on its first week. It not only reached the estimated number it also exceeded it.
