There are 7 International brands that employ the manufacturing power of Bangladesh. This isn’t because of the quality of clothes or the products. It is mainly due to the fact that Bangladesh has one of the lowest production costs. This makes Bangladesh one of the largest garments exporters, second only to China. Here is the list of international fashion powerhouse brands that are made in Bangladesh.

  1. H&M: The popular Swedish high-end street fashion H&M sources a large quantity of merchandise from Bangladesh. They sell clothing and accessories to people of all ages. They also cater to people’s home decor needs. They were one of the International companies that paid their workers during the pandemic.
  2. New Look: This is a fast-fashion brand that caters to men and women from teenagers and up. They provide amazing options for clothing and accessories. They have 519 stores around UK and Ireland, but 38 out of 572 of its manufacturing factories are in Bangladesh.   3. Primark: With over 370 stores in 12 countries, Primark has no factory under its name. Instead, they rely on their suppliers to handle the manufacture of their products. The Production takes place in Bangladesh, India, and China.International brands in bd gap
  4. GAP: Although considered as one of the biggest customers of Bangladesh, in the apparel industry Gap Is considered as an entity lacking ethics. In 2014 they were awarded as the worst company that year. This was due to them failing to sign agreements to ensure employee safety in factories.
  5. Peacocks: This fast-fashion brand had many of its merchandise manufactured in Bangladesh. However, during the Covid-19 situation, they were claimed to have canceled $8.22 million worth of orders that hurt the workers financially. but their parent company’s (EWM) spokesperson did not confirm anything.International brands in bd Austin reed
  6. Austin Reed: In 2016 it became a part of the EWM company. As a result, it too became blacklisted for not paying its worker’s salaries. Their specialty lies in men’s outfits, from casual to formal.International fashion Brands zara
  7. ZARA: A giant in the fashion world, ZARA  makes over $17 Billion worth of annual revenue from over 2,200 stores around the world. They provide fashionable options for its customers of all ages for clothing and accessories.  In 2018, it almost lost its sourcing license from Bangladesh due to the horrible working conditions of factory workers.
