Shaksuka is a popular North African and Middle Eastern dish for breakfast. This simple yet delicious dish is made out of simple ingredients like poached eggs and tomatoes. Turn your breakfast a bit more fun by trying this new recipe.
Ingredients:
- 4 capsicums
- 10 chopped tomatoes
- 4 crushed cloves of garlic
- 1/4 tbs chili flakes
- 2 table spoons of cumin powder
- 20 ml olive oil
- a pinch of salt and pepper
Method:
- Capsicums should be baked until the skin is browned.
- They should then be covered in aluminum foil and let to cool at room temperature.
- Remove the core and seeds, then slice the burned skin into strips.
- In a pan with hot olive oil, combine all the ingredients. cook until softened over low heat.
- Use salt and pepper to taste to season.
- 100 g of the shakshuka should be poured into a small skillet.
- Make a well in the center of the mixture using a large spoon, then crack two eggs into it.
- Cook with the lid on for about 10 minutes on low heat, or until the yolks are still runny.
- You can top it off with cilantro or parsley to taste.
