The highly controversial international event which was hosted by Israel this year Live broadcasted its finale through the Fox channel. This year marks the 2nd time this contest was held in the midst of a global pandemic. And the third time that a contestant from India managed to nab the title of Miss Universe from under 79 other competitors. Yes, You read that right. India’s Harnaaz Sandhu is now the newest edition to the list of owners of The Title of Miss Universe.

You can see from her expression the joy and surprise she felt when she was announced as the winner and crowned by the reigning Miss Universe, Andrea Meza of Mexico. Surpassing Nadia Ferreira of Paraguay and Lalela Mswane of South Africa, who were the first and second runners-up, respectively.

The pageant that took place early on Monday in the Israeli Red Sea resort town of Eilat, included traditional displays of national costumes, swimwear, gorgeously embellished full-length gowns, and a series of questions and answering sessions to test contestants’ knowledge of current affairs and public speaking skills. The top 10 showed off intricately bedazzled full-length gowns in either gold, silver, or bronze.

The 21-year-old actress who has two new movies on the way for 2022, topped among the playing field of 80. From 80 to 16, to 10, to 5, to 3, and finally her, she showcased elegance and poise all throughout the competition. Whether it was through her voguish ensembles or her answers during the interview section, she both stunned and amazed the onlookers.

After Sushmita Sen Paved the way by being the first-ever Indian to win the title in 1994, Then again Lara Dutta Followed her soon after, in 2000, It is safe to say that India must be rejoicing at the news of gaining another Miss Universe after 21 years.
