Strong smelly armpits or feet are not something we are unfamiliar with. Even if you yourself don’t have this problem, you definitely know someone who suffers from this unfortunate condition. This mainly happens when the protein in our sweat is attacked by bacteria to produce acid compounds. And these acid compounds are the cause of the bad smell. Although the intensity of the smell may vary from person to person, there are some home remedies we can use to fight any type of body odor.
Baking Soda and Lemon Juice: Add 2tbsp of baking soda and 1tbsp of lemon juice and leave it on your sweaty regions for 10 mins. Rinse it off with warm water. Doing this daily or every other day can help with the stink. The alkaline nature of baking soda neutralizes the acidity in sweat.
Baking Soda or Corn Starch: Unlike previously, here you can just dust off a bit of baking soda or corn starch in your underarms and it will soak up the moisture and kill moisture causing bacteria.
Apple Cider Vinegar: Apply a mixture of one part of vinegar with half part water onto your sweaty and smelly regions. Leave it overnight and wash it off in the morning with lukewarm water. You can do this every night for a refreshing smell throughout the entire day. Apple cider vinegar has acetic acid that is effective against body odor.
Coconut Oil: Massage this oil in your smelly regions 30 mins before shower every day. This will help neutralize the PH level of your body while killing smell-producing bacterias.
Tomato Juice: One way to use this to fight smell is to, blend, strain, and add half a lemon with it. Apply this mixture onto your armpits, neck, and other sweaty areas. leave it on for 10 mins before shower every other day. make sure to wash it with cold water. Another way is, and this is for extreme cases like if you fall into something smelly or something with pungent smell falls on you then take a whole bath with tomatoes juice to neutralize the stench.
Shave Your Underarms: This should be the first and most important step of getting rid of bad smells. If you keep your underarms clean then sweat and bacteria will have nothing to adhere to and produce a bad smell.
