Bangladeshi cricketers joined hands to fight against the coronavirus. BD cricketers created a special fund with half of their monthly salaries as a donation. At present, the fund accumulated Tk 315,000. However, excluding government taxes, the amount of money will stand at Tk 26 lakh.

Details of how the fund is being set up, Tamim Iqbal told his Facebook post that the whole world is devastated by the coronavirus outbreak. The outbreak is also increasing in Bangladesh. So, as cricketers, through social media, they are trying to make everyone aware. However, they feel that just being aware is not enough. Therefore, they came up with the idea of building a fund for the welfare of the corona affected people.

Regarding the fundraising, Tamim said that in this fundraising there are 17 cricketers from BCB’s central contract. And 10 other cricketers added who have played in the national team recently, including the Zimbabwe series. A total of 27 cricketers together gave 50 percent of the salary for a month. After deducting the tax, the total will be a little more than 25 lakhs.

Meanwhile, One-day captain Tamim urges everyone to come forward to fight against coronavirus. He hopes that if we all try our own place, no matter how small the contribution, it will all grow up. Mushfiqur Rahim also wrote on his Facebook post that as a part of the current situation, cricketers came and took such initiative that may inspire you as well.
